Autodesk 2015 lineup....

On 18th of March Autodesk revealed their 2015 lineup. From checking the presentation and the new features for their main products it feels like Maya got all the love this time around....


Bifrost Procedural Effects Platform,XGen Arbitrary Primitive Generator,Geodesic Voxel Binding, Streamlined retopology toolset, Faster Polygon modeling, OpenSubdiv support, Improved UV toolset, ShaderFX, Ptex support in mental ray.

Even MayaLT got some love...

Modeling improvements, OpenSubdiv library, Improved character animation, Improved UV editing tool, Substance material integration,Send to Unity FBX Export, MEL scripting, Cloud integration, Walk tool.

In comparison Max gets this...

Populate enhancements, Point Cloud support, ShaderFX, Placement tools, Quad chamfer, Improved ActiveShade rendering, Accelerated viewport performance, Stereo Camera, Enhanced scene management, Python scripting.

And to top it all they left the best for last....
The Cherry on top of the cake was their announcement that Softimage XSI is discontinued and this is the last version to be released....
